Zoo York began sometime in the late 1970's with the graffiti and skateboarding explosion that was happening in New York at the time. Whilst Graf artists were bombing the Manhattan street, Rodney Smith and Bruno Musso were starting the legendary Shut Skateboards in 1986 which filled the void to provide local skatboarders with the unique product they seeked. <br><br>Zoo York began as Shut Skateboards closed its doors in 1991 and Rodney began to put the word on the street about this venture. Cut to 1993, now with 3 partners, Rodney, Eli Morgan Gessner as designer and Adam Schatz as the financial backing, Zoo York began to spread to the world. <br><br>Zoo York to this day is still continuing to grow its family of old and new school skateboarders, NYC graf artists, BMX'ers, Motocrossers and cross over board sports.
